No tournaments on the SASBA schedule this weekend but there is a multi-entry senior tournament in Georgetown Sat with squads at 10, 12, 2,and 4 before the bracket final at 7:00. Two 60+ spots guaranteed to the finals.

Captain Ed Vowell returned from outer space tuesday nite just long enough to join a very short list of elite players. Capt. Ed started the 3rd game with the first 11 - only to leave the lily in the 12th, for a "perfect" 297. Sure wish I could have seen that one.

SASBA Friends,

On behalf of myself, my wonderful husband, Jamie, Monica's brothers; Jay, Darrin, and Rodney, I would like to thank all of you for the kind messages you sent our way.

The messages, prayers, poem, and thoughts so touched our hearts. Knowing how much you care has meant much to us.

Monica was most precious to us. She was our baby, our only daughter, and we miss her terribly.

3 referendums to vote on

As soon as C.J. gets them posted to the homepage, there will be 3 referendums for SASBA members to vote on. Please print out the ballot, make your selections and mail them in or give to C.J. or Kathy at a December tournament. The results will be announced at the Annual Meeting.

Please, no "campaigning" on here for one viewpoint or the other. We want as many members to vote as possible, so we can be assured we are doing what the majority wants.

can i bowl?

i did bowl 3 games last night with a much altered form and for the first time in years had very little pain during the execution of the throws, by not flexing my knees or waist, just walking upright and throwing from a much higher from the floor release point....i do think i can practice this and maybe become competitive with that practice.

the question is, is there any provision in the rules that would allow me to bowl in the SE year end tourney having only bowled 2 in the SE and 1 in little rock this year?

i did miss the other tourneys because of injury, and would like to compete in this one if i can build up to the number of games needed and am pretty sure i can do that with this new form.

Just wanted to take a sec and thank everyone who took the time and money to come to Del mar and bowl the summer-ville . the staff and I enjoy this weekend every year and love watching all the great bowlers who make up sasba .(what a class group ).Also hope the toe of Mr Francis heels soon ...the finals may have had a different look had he not broke his toe Sunday morning ......(he may be to old to do ball work before noon )..now we had all better watch out for our newest member ..we now have two in the king family we have to watch out for ...thanks for spending your big 50 with us Kathy . Lets not forget one of the great comebacks of all times congrats Mr. King .I hope everyone who bowled enjoy it as much as I did hosting it ..already making plans for next year hope you are too .

Bandera SS tourney

At Bandera, we will all bowl on B squad at 1:30. Meeting is at 12:30. Sunday morning start at 8:45 as usual. Sweepers are at normal times on Friday.

Election Results

Due to the small voter turnout for the bowler of the year, senior of the year and rookie of the year, I am assured that the proper authorities were not notified and the election might be somewhat flawed because Acorn was not notified. Therefore, we will have to take the Hayes results.

One award that was not mentioned was most improved bowler of the year should go to Mr Memphis Moody River himself. DL has had a fine season and a lot to look forward to in the year 2010.

Clarkesville Finals

The Team of Moody, Chico, and the Bell had a good Sunday rising from last to 4th. That was good enough for a new bowling ball for each. Bowling with Moody, Chico and the Bell should have known they would be 1st out the money.

In the first Baker finals match, Sowa, Vogt, and Bill got caught in a Throneberry bush and allowed Doug to dig out a win while Troutt fished for a shot and Creasie slipped in 3 strikes.

In the final Baker match, Smock was shocked, Whitehouse was white washed and Waddell waddled back home with the second place money. This means Hayes saw clearly, Grady made the Grade and Bob, despite swimming upstream all day, won the championship.

This is Smock's third consecutive 2nd place finish. He is hungry and will break through to a championship soon.

Andrew, Brenda, and the staff of Skyline Lanes were great hosts and we look forward to returning one day.

Sorry for the brevity of the post - Stuntz I am not and dinner is calling.
